They attached the back protector anyway, but I can lace easily down to 21" for hours in it! (It'll close at 20") I see where the difficulty lies in the back protector from experience now, and got pinched the first time I wore it, but I love it! They even included a liner! I am very pleased with the corset and the customer service. Well worth the cost, which totaled at $250, and included shipping and the tightlacing package. Meschantes was very helpful when there was a shipping delay( totally on the part of the post office). A+ In 05/02 Erica says: I recently bought a Meschantes corset and love it! The craftswomanship is excellent and the material is absolutely gorgeous. I already have a couple of off-the-rack corsets, and made one with friends (so much work!) Now have my first custom by a real seamstress! I can't say enough great things about this corset. My only surprise is that the lace protector is permanently attached. I thought it'd be loose so it could be removed to show off my tattoos. The corset was reasonabley priced as well.
